Starting pelvic floor physical therapy can feel overwhelming—and it’s completely normal

to have questions about what to expect. At Elevate, our goal is to create a comfortable,

empowering environment where you feel supported from your very first visit.

One-on-One Conversation

Your first appointment begins with a one-on-one conversation with your physical

therapist. During this time, we’ll review your personal health history, including any

surgical, medical, or childbirth experiences. We’ll also discuss bladder, bowel, sexual,

and orthopedic symptoms to gain a clear understanding of what you’re experiencing day

to day.

Together, we’ll identify your personal goals for pelvic floor physical therapy—whether

that’s reducing pain, improving bladder control, or returning to specific activities without

discomfort.

Full-Body Examination

At Elevate, we take a whole-body approach to care, ensuring your evaluation is

thorough and individualized. Your therapist will assess mobility and strength in your

spine, hips, and core, as these areas play an integral role in optimizing pelvic health.

With your consent, an internal pelvic floor assessment will be performed. This exam

allows us to evaluate pelvic floor muscle tone, coordination, and strength so we can

tailor your treatment plan specifically to your needs.

Your Individualized Plan of Care

By the end of your first session, your therapist will outline a customized plan designed to

help you reach your goals. We’ll take time to educate you about your symptoms,

contributing factors, and strategies you can start using right away to begin feeling better.

Our mission is to empower you with the knowledge, tools, and support you need to

confidently take an active role in your recovery.

What Comes Next

During follow-up sessions, your physical therapist will continue addressing pelvic floor

and orthopedic dysfunction through a combination of hands-on techniques, mobility

work, and targeted strengthening exercises. Each session is designed to improve

symptoms and reduce pain to return to meaningful movement.
